According to the article 397 of Criminal Code of Ukraine severe approvals are foreseen for interference in defender's activity or person's representative, namely:

1. Commitment of obstacles in any form to realization of legitimate activity of defender or person's representative on the grant of legal aid or violation of statute-instituted guarantees of their activity and professional secret – is punished by law with a fine from one hundred to two hundred untaxed minimums of citizens' profits or corrective work within two years or arrest within six months or by limitation of will within three years.

2.The same actions committed by an official person with the use of the official position, are punished with a fine from three hundred to five hundred of untaxed minimums of citizens' profits or limitation of will within three years with deprivation of right to hold certain offices or to carry on certain activity within three years.

Consequently, direction of advocate query is the additional guarantee of receipt of answer for a question you are interested in.

Members of parliament of Ukraine, deputies of local councils are also endued with certain additional rights on the receipt of different information in accordance with the laws of Ukraine «About status of member of parliament of Ukraine» and «About status of deputies of local councils». A deputy query is the requirement of deputy of local council that is supported by council to the officials of local council and its organs, rural, settlement, city chairman, leaders of enterprises, establishments and organizations regardless of pattern of ownership which are located or registered on certain territory and deputy of city (city of regional value), district, regional council - also to the head of local state administration, his deputies, leaders of departments and managements on questions the council works with.

A deputy appeal is the requirement of deputy of the proper council expounded in a writing form on questions connected with his deputy activity to the organs of executive power, organs of local self-government and their officials and also leaders of law enforcement and supervisory authorities, enterprises, establishments and organizations regardless of pattern of ownership, located on territory of the proper council to carry out certain actions, take measures or give official information explanation on questions that are attributed to their jurisdiction.
